David Griffen Passionate about food.

David Griffen loves food almost as much as he loves photography. He is also pretty keen on a well appointed interior. He relocated from Australia to Cornwall 11 years ago after completing an Associate Diploma of Commercial Photography in Adelaide, South Australia.

Living with his young family in the South West, David is happy to be surrounded by the food of top class chefs, delicious local produce and a hunter gather lifestyle. David runs a rustic kitchen studio full of beautiful props and backgrounds, located in North Cornwall, just off the A30.

David Griffen has produced beautiful food images for a range of projects including cook books and magazines. David shoots for top chefs and food brands, and regularly collaborates on large publication projects.

David Griffen - Food Photography Studio

Fully Stocked Kitchen Studio

Located in North Cornwall, on the way to Padstow and Rock, just outside Wadebridge, the studio is custom built with photography in mind, with large windows positioned to maximize natural light and a gorgeous rustic kitchen that is beautiful, functional and inviting.

David is constantly gathering new props, and works to ensure that each of his clients has an individual brand image: he doesn't believe in one-size fits all. He works closely with chefs, home economists and stylists to create beautiful imagery featured everywhere from websites and social media to magazines, iPad apps and cook books.

If you want your food photography to have that outdoor feel, David has a custom built wood oven, where he's shot pizzas and bread. For the truly rustic, David has also done a number of shoots in the nearby woods, incorporating a campfire.

If you are interested in using the studio, we make great coffee, so do come and have a chat.

Restaurants and Hotels

David Griffen regularly shoots for the top echelon of chefs in the region, including Michael Caines, Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth to name but a few. Whilst specialising in food and restaurant photography across the South West UK, David regularly ventures further afield and often shoots in London and overseas.

Having worked as a food photographer for over a decade, David Griffen has collaborated with some of the nation's top chefs and restaurants - including Michael Caines, The Dorchester, The Fat Duck Group, Tom Aikens, Oblix at the Shard and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons - David is an expert at bringing out the best elements of a dish, and, of course, at evoking hunger.

David specializes in exceptional food photography that makes food look as good as it tastes.
